Andrew and Nicholas had grown up living next door to each other. Best friends
from the moment the two had met all the way up until they were both old enough
to leave home their North End, Boston homes. Both boys had joined the army,
worked their way up in the ranks, Andrew becoming a First Lieutenant and Nick a
Captain. Alfred McCoy, the younger brother of Andrew was killed in a drag race
that was said to have been initiated by Lloyd Hatfield, Nicholas's older brother
who also died in the race. No one really knows the truth about who initiated it,
but it was what had ruined their friendship. Their hatred carried over when they
returned home, moving on with their lives as if the other had never existed. The
rivalry has no carried on to their children.
Loosely based on an actual feud that the Hatfield and McCoy's had in the late
1800's, just more modern!
